Volume Booster 1000 MAX

Every tab, up to 10× louder — without the crackle.

Some videos are recorded far too quietly, and your laptop speakers were already at maximum. This turns any browser tab up to 1000%, and a built-in limiter keeps it clean instead of turning it into distortion.

Free. No account. Works on every site.

Just installed? There is nothing to set up.

Open any page with sound, click the icon in the toolbar, drag the slider. Your level is remembered for that site and comes back on its own next time — including when you click through to the next video.

A readout appears over the page as you press, so you can stay in fullscreen. Tip: pin the icon so it is always one click away.

What makes this one different

Most boosters capture the whole tab. That approach breaks things.

It works in fullscreen

Tab-capture extensions lose the audio the moment a video goes fullscreen. This processes the page's own sound, so fullscreen behaves exactly as it should.

No recording indicator

Nothing about your tab is captured or shared, so Chrome never shows the "sharing this tab" warning.

Several tabs at once

Capture-based extensions can only boost one tab at a time. Here every tab keeps its own level, simultaneously.

A real limiter

Pushing gain past a point normally means distortion. A limiter and a soft clipper hold the peaks, so 1000% stays loud rather than becoming a crackle.

It remembers each site

Set it once for a site and it is there next time, automatically. No re-enabling on every page.

Nothing is collected

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking. Settings never leave your device.

Questions people actually ask

How do I make Chrome louder than 100%?

The volume slider in a page or in your operating system stops at 100% because that is the recording's own level. An extension can apply gain after that point — this one goes to 1000%, which is ten times the original level.

Why is the sound in this video so quiet even at maximum volume?

Almost always because the recording itself is quiet: a phone held too far away, a call recorded at a low input level, a clip exported without normalisation. Your speakers are fine — there is simply not much signal to amplify. Adding gain in the browser is the only place left to fix it.

Will boosting the volume damage my speakers?

Uncontrolled gain can, because clipping sends square-edged peaks to the driver. This extension runs a limiter and a soft clipper as the last stage, so the signal is held below full scale no matter where you put the slider.

Why does my volume booster stop working in fullscreen?

Because it uses tab capture. Going fullscreen changes the tab's state and the capture drops. This extension does not use capture by default, which is why fullscreen keeps working.

Can I boost more than one tab at the same time?

Yes. Each tab holds its own level independently, and the popup has a panel listing every tab currently making sound with a slider for each.

It is not working on one particular site. Why?

A small number of sites serve their audio in a form the normal engine cannot read. The extension detects that on its own and offers Turbo, a second engine that handles those cases. Turn it on just for that site.

Does it cost anything?

No. Boosting to 1000%, per-site memory, the presets, the limiter and the keyboard shortcuts are free and stay free.

Sorry it didn't work out

Volume Booster has been removed. No account was created and nothing about you was stored, so there is nothing left to delete.

One question, if you have five seconds

Knowing why people leave is the only way this gets better.

Thank you — that is genuinely useful.

If a specific site broke, saying which one gets it fixed fastest. Site-specific problems are usually sorted within a few days.
